Privacy Policy

Effective Date: September 10, 2026

Welcome to iEdu ("we", "our", or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile application iEdu (the "App").

By downloading or using iEdu, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the App.

1. Information We Collect

We design our app to be lightweight and focused strictly on student exam preparation. We collect minimal information necessary to provide core features:

Local Storage & Preferences: The App stores your study schedules, reminder configurations, and downloaded past papers locally on your device for convenient offline access.
Device & Usage Data: We may collect non-personal diagnostic data, crash logs, and performance metrics via trusted services like Google Play Services or Firebase to fix bugs and optimize app speed.
Notifications Permission: The App requests permission to send push notifications exclusively for your Smart Study Reminders. You can disable notifications anytime in your Android device settings.

2. Source of Educational Content (Public Data)

iEdu provides access to publicly available Grade 12 National Senior Certificate (NSC) past examination papers and memorandums.

These official documents are sourced from public records published by the Department of Basic Education (DBE) in South Africa (View Official Source). iEdu is an independent educational tool and is not officially affiliated with the DBE.

3. How We Use Your Information

The limited information collected is utilized strictly for:

Operating and maintaining core app features like offline past papers and study reminders.
Improving app performance, monitoring crashes, and enhancing user experience.
Complying with legal obligations and Google Play Developer policies.

4. Third-Party Services

The App may use reliable third-party tools (such as Firebase for storage or Google Play Services for distribution/analytics). These platforms operate under their own privacy guidelines. We never sell, trade, or rent your information to third parties.

5. Children's Privacy

iEdu is intended for Grade 12 Matric students. We do not knowingly collect personal details from children under 13 without consent. If you believe data was inadvertently collected, please reach out to us for immediate deletion.

6. Data Security

We implement reasonable protective measures to safeguard your local data preferences. However, no digital storage or transmission is 100% secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically. Any changes will be reflected on this page with a revised effective date.
